Clayton Piano Studio Policy
Method and Approach
The appreciation and performance of music is rewarding throughout our lives. Music lifts our spirits and enriches our moments in a simple and direct manner regardless of age and circumstance. This is why I consider the gift of music to be one of the most precious and long lasting gifts that we can give our loved ones and ourselves.
It has been my great pleasure as a piano teacher to guide many students in learning and perfecting their skills on this wonderful timeless instrument. I take great pride and joy in the successes of all of my students, and this is a source of fulfillment that I have cherished for many years.
I require, therefore, of all my students a serious and disciplined approach to the lessons and a habit of regular practicing between the lessons.
Upon signing up for lessons, the student/parent will be asked to thoroughly read the Studio Policies & Procedures and sign/date the document. By signing the policies, the student/parent agrees to respect and abide by the studio’s current policies as long as the student is taking lessons with the teacher.
Tuition and Lessons
A flat-rate system is used for tuition. Monthly installments are structured so that regardless of the number of lesson weeks in each month, the tuition remains a flat, predictable amount. Pre-planned absences and holiday breaks have also been factored into the rate. Tuition is divided into 12 equal monthly payments. Studio is open year round (Jan-Dec).
There will be NO lessons offered on the following days:
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas break starts on December 22nd- lessons resume on January 5th
Spring break 3/16/2026-3/22/2026 (lessons resume on 3/23/2026 )
Spring break is one week in March, exact dates are determined at the beginning of each new calendar year.
Easter Sunday
Summer break is one week, exact dates are subject to change and will be updated for every calendar year.
Lessons will be offered on Halloween to those students who wish to attend their lesson, however no alternative times and dates will be offered.
Summer lessons are mandatory to hold a place in the studio for the upcoming school year. If student will be absent for a longer period of time, full monthly payments are still due for each month in order to keep a slot in the studio. Students who take summer off without making payments for missed months will be placed on the waiting list and will not be guaranteed a slot in the fall. Tuition is subject to annual increases at the beginning of each academic year. Prior notice of rate increases will be given at least one month in advance.
Tuition is NOT reduced for student absences. Because specific times are set aside for specific students, make-up lessons are not offered and rescheduled under any circumstances. The only exception is if the teacher misses the lesson.
All students are assigned a regular day and time for their lesson. Students and parents are asked to respect the schedule once a regular lesson time is arranged. If for any reason a student’s schedule will no longer allow them to attend lessons at their regularly scheduled time, 30 days notice in advance is required so we can try to arrange new permanent lesson time. No lesson time/day changes will be allowed on a week to week basis. However, it is recommended to avoid signing up for other activities that overlap with our agreed piano lesson time, as there is no guarantee that another slot will be available, especially during the school year. If student is late for a lesson more than 15 minutes, lesson will be considered canceled and no refunds will be issued.
Inclement Weather– in the event of inclement weather, lessons will be offered online via FaceTime at the regular schedule, therefore no alternative dates or make-ups will be offered.
Teacher Absences– the teacher reserves the right to cancel any lesson. In this instance, make-up lesson will be arranged.
Lessons of different durations are offered to accommodate students’ schedules, age, and/or level, according to the price list below:
- 45 min lessons once a week – $240 flat monthly fee (recommended for 8 yo and younger students);
- 60 min lessons once a week – $320 flat monthly fee (recommended for 9 yo and older);
- 90 min lessons once a week – $480 flat monthly fee (recommend for families with multiple children who wish to split lesson time to 3×30 minutes or 2×45 minutes).
Exceptionally, 30 minute lessons can be offered for very young students (5 or younger).
It is important to understand that this piano course does not conform to a concept of an academic year. The above scheduling and billing policy applies to all months of the year, regardless of school holidays and the like.
Tuition is due at the beginning of the month (the first lesson in the month). In the case when student is prevented to attend the first lesson scheduled in the given month, the tuition should be paid on the last lesson of the previous month.
Recitals and other performances
Recitals are offered twice a year, typically in December and May. The recital fee is $25 per student and all students are encouraged to participate. In addition, the various organizations of which Ms. Stojicevic is a member may provide non-competitive and competitive opportunities. The teacher reserves the right to offer those opportunities to qualifying students who posses necessary commitment, work ethic, discipline and talent.
Withdrawal Policy
Should a student choose to withdraw from lessons, a 30 days written notice is required. Email is acceptable. If the 30 days written notice is not given, tuition for one month will still be owed. Lessons are canceled by month, no prorates will be offered.
Media Release
Photos and audio/video recordings of students’ lessons and performances may be used in promotional materials, workshop presentations, or in other professional ways. Identifying information will be excluded or limited to first names only. Parents who wish to exempt their children from published media may do so by providing a written request
